How Text Visits Work

1️⃣ How do I start a Text Visit?

  • Fill out a simple questionnaire

  • Share your main health concern

  • Add your photo ID

  • Pay the $39 visit fee Your case is then sent securely to licensed clinicians.

2️⃣ How quickly will I hear from a clinician?

Once a clinician accepts your case, they’ll send you an introductory message within about an hour. After that, they may ask questions, gather more information, and create your treatment plan.

3️⃣ Can clinicians choose which cases they take?

Yes.
 This ensures you are matched with someone who feels fully comfortable and qualified to help with your concern.

4️⃣ What if the clinician needs more information?

They’ll reach out through the secure portal. If you don’t respond right away, that’s okay — your case stays open for up to 15 days, giving you time to reply when able.

5️⃣ What if my condition isn’t appropriate for a Text Visit?

Sometimes a clinician may decide that:

  • Your concern requires a Video Visit

  • An in-person evaluation is safer

  • Your symptoms need more detailed care

If that happens, they’ll let you know and provide clear next steps.
 You can then choose whether to schedule a Video Visit.

6️⃣ Do I still receive a treatment plan if a text visit isn’t the right fit?

Yes.
 Your clinician will still provide a written plan explaining:

  • Their assessment

  • Why text-only care isn’t ideal

  • What type of visit or follow-up they recommend

You will always get clear instructions on what to do next.

Prescriptions & Medications

7️⃣ Can clinicians prescribe medications through Text Visits?

Clinicians can prescribe many non-controlled medications when clinically appropriate.
Your prescription will be sent to the pharmacy you choose during intake.
You can also use:

  • Klarity's built-in e-prescribing tool, or

  • Your clinician’s preferred prescribing system (both are safe and secure)

8️⃣ Can controlled substances be prescribed in Text Visits?

No. Klarity does not allow controlled substances to be prescribed via text-only care.
If, based on your symptoms, a controlled medication might be appropriate, the clinician will guide you on your next steps — usually a Video Visit or in-person evaluation.

9️⃣ Where can I view my treatment plan?

Your clinician will write a detailed plan at the end of your visit. You can view it anytime in your Klarity patient portal.
